Banner Decorating Contest

Rules:

  • Banners should follow this year’s Homecoming theme of “It’s a Bird … It’s a Game … It’s Homecoming!
  • The entry fee is $15.
  • There is no limit to resources for the banner except the use of glitter. All banners with glitter will be disqualified and not displayed. Use your imagination, but please stick to the theme. All banners must be cloth (sheets or shower curtains are recommended for easy display).
  • Banners are to be brought to the Alumni Association Office, Alumni Center, 2nd Floor, 2800 W. Bethel Avenue, by Monday, September 26, before 4:00 p.m. The banner needs to be completely dry when delivered. All banners entered in the competition will be displayed at events starting September 28 (Faculty/Staff Social).
  • The Homecoming Steering Committee is not responsible for stolen or damaged banners.
  • Any participants who wish to display their banner in the Parade need to pick their banner up between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7. Otherwise they will not be returned to you. The committee will not bring banners to the parade site.

The 2011 Homecoming Steering Committee will judge banners. Winners will be announced at Air Jam--- Thursday, October 6 at 9:00 p.m. in Emens Auditorium. Remember, participating in the Banner Decorating Competition is counted toward the Ashley Award.
