Fountain Square Academy

Fountain Square Academy (FSA) is an adaptive reuse public charter school located south of downtown Indianapolis. This school, serving over 260 students, is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty. College is an expectation at Fountain Square Academy. Attending to those in 5th to 12th grade, FSA pays for all IVY Tech classes for the qualified students and has established innovative partnerships such as tutoring and the “Middle College” program. Fountain Square Academy engages each student in an individualized learning plan. This particular way of teaching ensures that each child will receive the best education they can.
The reconstruction of this old drum facility has left the teachers and students with a creative space to teach, learn and develop. It brings the community’s past, present and future together. Community involvement has a very positive influence on the students. The County Public Library, Indianapolis Opera Company, Phillips Music Guild, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Character Council of Indiana, and the Minority Engineering Program of Indianapolis all work together with the academy to enrich the students and community alike. With plans to expand, Fountain Square Academy hopes to open many more doors for their children.
