The Project School: Indianapolis

The Project School-Indianapolis is near downtown Indianapolis, located in a renovated manufacturing facility, and was chartered in 2007. The school serves kindergarten to seventh grade students, with a total enrollment of approximately 190 students. The students do not use textbooks and they are assessed based on qualitative means, not daily grading. The learning is project-based, place-based, and problem-based, a P3 Framework curriculum. Teachers design the curriculum that focuses on social justice, community improvement, and project-based learning with semester-long projects. The school plans to add 8th grade, an area for agricultural learning, and an outdoor play environment, but will not expand further.
