Thea Bowman Leadership Academy

    Thea Bowman Leadership Academy is located in Gary, Indiana and serves grades K-12 in two facilities, including a newly constructed middle and high school building. Thea Bowman is highly sought after as a choice charter school and has a student population of over 1000.  In order to create life-long learners, Thea Bowman strives to provide an educational foundation where students can become proactive, knowledgeable, and cultured participants of society, exemplary of problem-solving and community leadership.  This charter school believes that all children are different and unique learners, and that it is a necessity to nurture every student with ingredients of love, respect, attention, discipline, encouragement, honesty, good adult examples, and role models.  Facilitating grade-proficient students and developing a strong sense of self-worth is imperative to the educational pedagogy of Thea Bowman.  Academic success at this charter school can be credited in part to smaller classroom sizes, personalized learning, and dedicated teachers and administrators.
