Yes, you may pay online with your Master Card, Discover or American Express account. Credit cards are accepted online only and will not be accepted in person, by mail or by phone.

How can my parents log in and view the Bursar Statement?

Students can set up individuals (parents, guardians, spouses, or third parties) to view and pay their Bursar Statements by logging onto Cardinal QuickPay and selecting "Authorize Payers" from the menu at the left. Follow the instructions on the Authorized Payers page to create a user name and temporary password for each authorized payer; you will provide the password to the authorized payer. Be sure to include an e-mail address so your authorized payer will receive e-mail notifications each time a new Bursar Statement is ready to view.

Authorized payers will receive an automated e-mail notification with the login name informing them that they have been authorized. The authorized payer must change the temporary password when he or she first logs into the site. Again, the student is responsible for providing the authorized payer with the password.

Each billing cycle, both the student and authorized payers will receive an e-mail notifying them that the Bursar Statement is ready to view. The e-mail will include a link that takes them directly to the Cardinal QuickPay login page.

How can others pay my Bursar Statement on my behalf?

If established as an authorized payer, he or she can pay by e-check or credit card. Checking and savings account information from a bank within the United States can be entered at Cardinal QuickPay. You will have the option to have the site retain your bank account information or you may enter it each time you make an e-payment. No one else will be able to view a payee's confidential account information, not even the student. In the interest of security and privacy, each authorized payer is assigned a separate PIN to access their account and payment history. If the student has not established you as an authorized payer, you can make payments as a guest payer if you know the student's Ball State student ID number. Guest payers do not have access to account information. The student will receive an e-mail confirmation of the payments made by guest payers on the student's behalf.

If students, authorized payers, or guest payers do not wish to pay online, they can print the Bursar Statement and send a check, money order or cashier's check along with the remittance to:

    Ball State University
Office of Bursar and Loan Administration
    Muncie, IN 47306-0725

I am an authorized payer. Why can't I see payments made by my student?

The student's payment history file in Cardinal QuickPay shows you only the payments you made on the account. Due to privacy reasons, you will not see payments made by your student, other authorized payers, or any other guest payers. Only the student has access to the entire history of Cardinal QuickPay payments.

If I am an authorized payer, does that allow me to get my student's financial information over the phone, in person, or by email?

As an authorized payer, you are only entitled to online information through Cardinal QuickPay. It does not allow BSU staff to discuss the student's financial record with parents or others by phone, in person, or by email unless your student has also granted access to you through My Education Gateway (MEG), and you have signed up for a Ball State Passport ID.

I am an authorized payer and I have forgotten my Cardinal QuickPay user ID and/or password. What do I do?

Contact your student to have them reset your user ID and/or password.

Can I make a partial payment?

You can make a payment for a specific amount by entering that amount in the payment box on the "enter payment amount" page. Once you begin entering e-check information, the amount cannot be changed except to cancel the transaction and begin again.

Please explain the differences between 'statement balance', 'current balance', and 'minimum payment' on the payment page.

"Statement balance" is the balance due on your Bursar Statement.

"Current balance" represents all charges on your account including "future due" items.

"Minimum due" is the payment due under the installment plan. By paying the minimum due or any amount less than the statement balance, you will be assessed a $10 installment payment plan fee.

How do I see my e-check payment on my account?

E-check payments will be posted to your student account immediately after you receive the receipt for your payment in Cardinal QuickPay. You can see the payment on your student account by selecting payment history. Your authorized users will also be able to view your student account by selecting that menu option. You can also view the payment details within 24 hours in "current account status".

I am a student, and I'm not sure what my user ID or password is. Help!

The user ID and password you use to access Cardinal QuickPay are the same as those you use to access your Ball State e-mail and other student services. If you need help, go to the Tech Center, located in Bracken Library, room 101, with your Ball State ID.

How often are Bursar Statements generated?

Bursar Statements are generated when there is new activity on your account, or if you did not pay your previous month's balance in full. An e-mail notification, usually around the second week of the month, will be sent to the student's Ball State e-mail account and the authorized payer's established e-mail account when a new Bursar Statement is ready to view. The required amount is due on the first day of every month (past due charges are due immediately).

How do I know when my payment is due?

All payments are due on the first of every month.
