The pre-engineering major prepares students for engineering school. The pre- engineering program at Ball State concentrates on civil, electrical, mechanical, nuclear, metallurgical and chemical engineering and requires a solid and varied background in the sciences. Pre-engineering majors who decide not to pursue an engineering degree find employment in scientific industries related to the fields of math, physics, chemistry, and life sciences. Many go on to become engineering technicians.
The following occupations represent some career opportunities available to pre-engineering majors. Some will require additional education. For more information visit the Career Lab in Lucina 235.
