What Can I Do with a Major in…

Pre-Veterinary

The pre-veterinary program prepares students to enter veterinary schools. Those who choose not to pursue a degree in veterinary science often go on to major in biology, chemistry, ecology, zoology, or other related disciplines. Veterinarians find work in private animal practices, biological research facilities, pharmaceuticals, government agencies, and other industries related to the care of animals. Those who complete the pre-veterinary program may also find work in those settings as assistants and technicians.

The following occupations represent some career opportunities available to pre-veterinary majors. Some will require additional education. For more information visit the Career Center in Lucina 220
