Department Computer Recommendations

Deciding to purchase a computer can be a big decision. While some departments may require students purchase a laptop, many others do not.

If you decide you are going to purchase a computer to bring to college, you will want to make sure that you are familiar with the requirements or recommendations for the department of your major. To see if your major has specific recommendations, view the Orientation Guide to Departmental Computer Recommendations. In addition, some departments have provided the Computer Store with links to departmental web pages that provide this information.

If you do not see your department listed above and it was not listed in the Orientation Guide to Departmental Computer Recommendations, please contact the departmental office to inquire about its recommendations or requirements.

The Computer Store does not compile the requirements or recommendations specified in the links above. They are specified by the individual departments.
