You might not realize it, but not all students are required to come to campus with their own computer. You will want to check with the departmental office for your major to find out if you are required to have your own computer. University Computing Services has several
general use computer labs across campus and there are also labs in many of the residence halls. Having said that, many students find having their own laptop to be a real asset. The portability of a laptop gives you the ability to take it to class to take notes and you can work on projects between classes.
