Teaching International Students

An important objective of Ball State’s Strategic Plan is to increase international student enrollment. While this greater international presence on campus brings many educational and social rewards, it also brings with it a need to recognize the special challenges that many international students face, as well as the classroom impact of changing student demographics.

With the assistance of faculty members from several departments including the Intensive English Institute (IEI), OEE has created videos to support Ball State faculty in facilitating success when working with international students. These videos highlight some of the main issues facing international students in the classroom setting and how faculty members might respond.

While the videos need not be viewed in a particular order, we suggest you begin with Basic Premises and Considerations for a general overview.
