Admission Requirements

  1. Applicants pursuing a certificate program only will be admitted as non-degree students. 
  2. Applicants must complete an application form supplied by the Office of Graduate Admissions and provide two copies of official transcripts from the institution granting the baccalaureate degree and each institution attended for undergraduate and graduate work.
  3. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a college or university that is accredited by its regional association. They must have an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (on all undergraduate course work, including work completed prior to the baccalaureate) or a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale in the latter half of the baccalaureate. Applicants not meeting these criteria may be considered for admission at the discretion of the IR Certificate Program Director.
  4. Students currently enrolled in the Graduate School who wish to pursue the Institutional Research Certificate Program must apply for admission to the program before six of the credits are completed.
  5. Graduate students may not hold a graduate assistantship if they are enrolled only in a certificate program.
  6. Students may be enrolled in a certificate program full-time or part-time.
  7. Students currently enrolled in a graduate program of study leading to a degree who wish simultaneously to pursue this graduate certificate program with the Graduate School must inform the Graduate School they intend to seek the graduate certificate.
  8. Completion of a graduate certificate does not guarantee admission into a graduate degree program.
