Media and Software Training

The Emerging Technologies training team offers a variety of learning opportunities and courses available to students and industry professionals. These courses, which cover a broad list of media applications, include for-credit undergraduate classes.

In January of 2011, Ball State partnered with lynda.com, an online learning service, to help the Ball State community familiarize themselves with numerous software applications. Access to lynda.com gives users the ability to watch online training videos and even learn an entirely new application.

Personalized support appointments are now available through the new Tech Center in Bracken Library upon request.

For Students

Media software certification training is offered for students as for-credit courses. Currently, courses are available for the following applications: Final Cut Pro, Motion, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, After Effects, Illustrator, Fireworks, and ProTools.  Students register for these ID (Interdepartmental) classes through the course registration system. For Industry Professionals

Professional media software training offers professionals an opportunity to enhance their skills using a variety of advanced media software. Certified trainers will provide professionals a personalized learning experience in the following applications: Final Cut Pro, Motion, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash. Classes are offered both at the Ball State University Fishers Center and on campus at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. See a list of available classes and times.
