Virtual Set

The Ball State University Teleplex recently installed an elaborate green-screen virtual set in its studio. As the Teleplex was getting the system set up and calibrated, Emerging Technologies was contacted by a student planning to use the set for a creative project. Over the course of several months we took the hand-drawn sketches of the set and crafted a fully digital, 3D version that could be imported into the virtual set. This new virtual set was also unique in that its primary purpose would be for a children's television show with puppets. So, not only did the set need to work within the technical bounds of the virtual set, but it also needed to be built to accommodate puppets and their unseen performers. Emerging Technologies really pushed the boundaries of the system and played an important role in the troubleshooting and implementation of this new system at Ball State.
