Transportation

Transportation Services provides safe, economical, and appropriate ground transportation for faculty, staff and students as they perform their official duties through the United States and Canada. Airport Shuttle
Ball State University transportation office is providing an airport shuttle service between the campus and the Indianapolis International Airport. Depending on the number of reservations, the transportation office may use university cars, vans, or buses to transport passengers to and from the Indianapolis International airport. Bus Service
The University bus service provides buses for student field trips, athletic teams, and other campus activities. Contact the transportation office at least two weeks before your trip to schedule a bus. Lift-equipped buses are available. To request a bus, please complete the Bus Requisition Form (PDF) and e-mail Kris Shroyer at kfshroyer@bsu.edu.

Campus Shuttle Bus Service
During Fall and Spring semesters, the university operates a shuttle bus service for the campus community. Campus shuttle buses provide free service every 5 to 10 minutes Monday through Friday, as well as limited service on Sundays for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Real-time bus tracking is available through the Transloc app.

Garage
The Ball State University Garage offers a full range of automotive services including preventive maintenance, repairs, and 24-hour refueling. The Garage is staffed with ASE-certified mechanics with a combined experience of over 150 years. The garage maintains vehicles, generators, agricultural, and landscape equipment. The garage is open Monday-Friday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm and Saturday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Mobile Technology Center/Classroom
New to Transportation Services is a mobile technology center/classroom. The mobile classroom supports one instructor and 12 student workstations and can operate with its own generator-supplied electrical power at any location.  The mobile classroom is ADA compliant and available for departmental use and is a great way to add Ball State's presence to communities both near and far.

Technology upgrades to the mobile classroom are ongoing, check back frequently for updates.

Motor Pool
The university motor pool maintains a small fleet of automobiles and vans for temporary business use by the campus community. The motor pool office is open 6:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and 6:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday. Special arrangements may be made to pick up a vehicle outside these hours by calling the reservation desk at 285-1022. A valid driver's license for all drivers must be shown at the time of vehicle pickup. To reserve a university vehicle, please visit the FleetCommander Online Vehicle Reservation System and complete the online vehicle request form.

Note: Vehicles cannot be released without a signed Authorization for Travel form and verification of driver license information.
