Ball State students, faculty, and staff can acquire software at discounted prices and can even download some programs for free.

Where can students and employees get free software?

The Software and Services Download site gives you access to download free copies of certain software titles.  

You will be required to log in to the site with your Ball State computer username and password. All software licensing agreements must be followed.

What software is available at the Technology Store?

The Technology Store carries several software programs in stock, and it can order many others at educational discounts. These great deals on software are available because Ball State has partnerships and agreements with several software providers including Adobe, Apple, and Microsoft. Visit the Technology Store Software page to see a list of the software carried in stock.

Where can I get help downloading or installing software?

TechClips have been developed to show you how to download and install some software titles.

You can also e-mail the Technology HelpDesk or call us at 765-285-1517 if you have questions or need help. Students can make an appointment with TechTime if they would like to have someone help them with the download or install.

What is BetaPlace Software?

Beta software can be described as software that is in a period of testing involving a small group of clients who try out the software and provide feedback about their experience. At Ball Sate University, beta software is provides on the BetaPlace Web site.
  
Please note that software on the BetaPlace site is not officially supported by the university. You will also want to clearly read all the information provides at the BetaPlace Web site before downloading any of the software provided there.
