Assistant Professor/Cell Biology, Department of Biology

Tenure-track faculty position available August 17, 2012.

Responsibilities: teach courses in undergraduate cell biology, introductory biology, and in area of expertise; develop an externally-funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students; contribute actively to the professional life of the department, college, university, and surrounding community.

Minimum qualifications: earned doctorate in a biological science with a focus that includes cell biology by November 1, 2012; effective written and oral communication skills; commitment to excellence in teaching; competency in current approaches in cell biology.

Preferred qualifications: evidence of scholarly activity such as post-doctoral experience, publications, and grantsmanship; established research agenda which complements existing departmental concentrations; demonstrated teaching ability.
