Tenure-track faculty position available August 17, 2012.
Responsibilities: teach laboratory based introductory biology, introductory microbiology, and an advanced course related to candidate’s research focus; support the interdisciplinary Ph.D. in environmental science program; integrate research focus into that of the existing program; advance research opportunities of undergraduate and graduate students into current issues in environmental microbiology (for example, bioremediation, biofuels, algal ecology, environmental genomics, sustainability, etc.).
Minimum qualifications: earned doctorate in a biological science by November 1, 2012; effective written and oral communication skills; commitment to excellence in teaching; competency in current approaches in environmental biology.
Preferred qualifications: evidence of scholarly activity such as post-doctoral experience, publications, and grantsmanship; established research agenda which complements existing departmental concentrations; demonstrated teaching ability.
