Cindy Allen-Stuckey
Cindy Allen-Stuckey, founder of Making Performance Matter, collaborates with organizations to help them connect employee performance to their business results. Cindy’s experience in organizational development, training and development, and human resources is largely attributed to her extensive career in manufacturing having spent the past 11 years at Knauf Insulation where she was the Director, Human Resources & Organizational Development for North America. Prior to that, Cindy developed her skills and perspective through a variety of roles at Keihin IPT and Cummins, Inc. She also has facilitated and taught a range of classes from GED classes through college courses. Cindy earned a Master of Science degree in Management at Indiana Wesleyan University, a Master of Science degree in Education at Indiana University, and a Human Performance Improvement Certificate, American Society for Training and Development.
Doug Baker
Doug Baker has been at Ball State University since 2000 as a Human Resources Representative for the departments of Residence Halls Dining Service and Housing & Residence Life. Doug received a bachelor's degree in Pre-professional Psychology and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Ball State University. He also completed his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification in 1998. Prior to coming to Ball State University, Doug spent eight years in unemployment claims and career development with Indiana Work Force Development.
Michelle Baker
Michelle Baker is a learning and development manager and owner/consultant at phase(two)learning. As a corporate learning professional she has more than 13 years of experience educating new and veteran support, volunteer, management, and executive level employees. Michelle is experienced with everything from 1:1 coaching sessions to organizing and leading large-scale training events. Michelle's background includes a variety of fields, including education, finance, IT, interactive/social media marketing and retail. Founding the consulting firm phase(two)learning has allowed her to leverage her multi-industry experience to help organizations build or revise their Onboarding and Learning & Development strategies. Derek Berger
Derek Berger serves as the Director of Development for Teachers College at Ball State University. Prior to this role, he worked as the Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Ball State and as the Coordinator of Chapter Development for Pi Kappa Phi National Fraternity. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Ball State University with a Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education.
Jennifer Bott
Dr. Jennifer P. Bott is the Assistant Provost for Learning Initiatives, Online and Distance Education, at Ball State University. Jennifer is an associate professor of management and has earned a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Jennifer Bott oversees Online and Distance Education and iLearn: Integrated Learning Institute, bringing together student support, instructional design, and faculty and administrative services for online and distance education. She is also an associate professor of management and has earned a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Jennifer Bott attained her master’s and doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Akron in 2004. She has more than 20 published articles in some of the best journals in her field.
Thresette Briggs
Thresette Briggs is the Founder and President of Performance 3, LLC, a woman-owned management consulting firm offering custom services in Organizational Development, Facilitation & Training, and Inspirational Speaking. She is an Adjunct Faculty Member for Indiana Wesleyan University’s School of Business, and a Leadership Coach for Butler University’s MBA program. Thresette has held human resource leadership positions for over 20 years in global companies with up to 10,000 employees. She led large scale change initiatives in organizations in transition by partnering with leaders, resulting in successful business transformations and turnarounds. Thresette’s experience includes education, manufacturing, distribution, finance, customer service, and non-profit. Thresette holds numerous awards and recognition for leadership development, public speaking, operational excellence, and process improvements.
Karen Brockmyre
Karen Brockmyre is Vice President of Making Performance Matter, LLC. Karen has a diverse business background, ranging from not-for-profits to global Fortune 500 companies. She has worked in accounting, operations, sales, purchasing, and developed corporate training programs. Karen draws from her experience as an analyst and project manager dealing with global accounts at the executive level to deliver real world solutions. Her classes are energetic, highly interactive, and aimed to provide relevant information. In addition to her work experience, Karen holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration, both from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Sherry Brown
Sherry Brown, President, Organize This!, has been directly involved with providing solutions to businesses for over 15 years. She has traveled East Central Indiana guiding business owners to develop and activate successful advertising plans while working for Burkhart Advertising and Peak Outdoor. Before forming her own company in 2011, Organize This!, she spent many years helping family members and neighbors create more inviting homes and functional spaces. Now working for herself full time, she guides businesses and home owners toward their goals. She thrives in clutter, while encouraging others about the outcome, while working with them through the process. Sherry is member of the National Association of Professional Organizers.
Judith Moore Burke
Judy Moore Burke has been Director of Human Resources at Ball State University since 1999. Prior to that time, she was Assistant Director of Human Resources for Academic Affairs and Director of Training and Development. During her career at the university, she has delivered many training programs on various management topics including: interviewing and hiring, performance evaluations, discipline and terminations, and more. Judy received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University in Business Education. She also has two master's degrees from Ball State University, one in education and one in management. In 1995, she successfully completed her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
Dom Caristi
Dom joined the Ball State faculty in 1998. He previously taught at Saint Mary’s of Minnesota, Iowa State University and Missouri Southern, where he also managed the university’s low power television station. He was a Fulbright Professor in Slovenia in 1995, Greece in 2009 and has been a visiting professor in Italy with the Kentucky Institute for International Studies and AHA-International. His BA is from the University of Miami, his MA from University of Central Missouri and his PhD is from the University of Iowa. He has served fellowships with the Radio Television News Directors Association and the National Association of Television Program Executives. In 1998 he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Iowa Broadcasters Association. A member of the Broadcast Education Association for more than 20 years, he served on the Board of Directors 1997-2002, including a term as its Vice President. In 2012 Dom was selected for the Outstanding Faculty Member Award at Ball State.
JoDee Curtis
For over 15 years JoDee has had responsibility for all facets of human resources. Before starting her own HR consulting firm, Purple Ink, LLC, she served as the Vice-President of Human Resources for a nationwide services company and previously as the Director of HR for Katz, Sapper & Miller, a $50 million CPA firm. She led KSM to becoming a Best Place to Work in Indiana as well as the Healthiest Place to Work in Indiana. JoDee is a CPA with experience as an auditor and a CFO/controller. JoDee obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Evansville. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Senior Professional in Human Resources and holds certifications as a Predictive Index analyst and as a Creative Problem Solver. She is a member of SHRM and the AICPA and serves on the board of directors of IndySHRM and the Carmel Library Foundation.
Melissa Daniels
Melissa Daniels is a graduate of Hanover College and worked in project management before beginning her Professional Organizing career in 2004. Her Cincinnati, Ohio, based organizing firm helped residential and business clients create organizing solutions with an element of fun and design. Currently, Melissa owns Organized Hive, a professional organizing services firm. She enjoys sharing her expertise in workshops as well as working alongside her clients to encourage and teach them organizing skills that apply to home, work and life. Melissa is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers.
Diane Drake
Diane Drake is a Muncie native. She graduated from Ball State University’s Honors College in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Diane joined the University Human Resource Services staff in 2001 as the Leave Programs Specialist/Budget Coordinator. In her current position of Worker's Compensation and Leave Programs Specialist, she handles all aspects of the various leave programs at the university. In particular, she is responsible for administering the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Diane received her Master’s Degree in Executive Development for Public Service in May 2012 from Ball State University and holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
Marc Drizin
Marc Drizin is Founder of Employee Hold'em of Carmel, Indiana. Marc partners with clients on strategies to recruit, retrain, and reward employees primarily through the use of research tools and foll-up coaching and consulting. He conducts 25 to 35 speeches per year on issues of employee loyalty, ethics, and customer and employee retention.
Sali Kay Falling, J.D.
Sali Kay Falling received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Anderson University in 1986, and then completed a graduate program in Health Science leading to the Master of Arts Degree in 1988 from Ball State University. Ms. Falling received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University School of Law in December of 1995. In February of 2001, she became the first Director of University Compliance, and Executive Director of University Compliance at Ball State University. As Executive Director of University Compliance, Ms. Falling oversees and coordinates activity involving a number of university-wide compliance issues. Ms. Falling has also served as an instructor in the Department of Physiology and Health Science.
Carla Feagans
Carla Feagans is President of Ignite HR Consulting and a professional training consultant. Her strengths include exceptional leadership development, team-building, coaching, facilitation, and instructional design skills. Carla has experience working in a variety of corporate settings, instructor-led training and development, managing multiple projects to achieve corporate goals, and highest ratings in client satisfaction. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in General Students / Management, at Indiana University, Bloomington. She also holds a Master's Degree in Communications and Training Technology from the University of Northern Iowa.
Jenni Flanagan is a graduate of Ball State University, Department of Physiology and Health Science, with degrees in Respiratory Therapy and Health Science. Jenni has worked in the health field for 13 years and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She is currently employed with Ceridian as a health coach and works on Ball State University campus with the Working Well program.
Dagney Faulk, Ph.D. is Director of Research in the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Her research focuses on state and local tax policy and regional economic development issues. She has worked on numerous Indiana-focused policy studies on a variety topics including the regional distribution of state government taxes and expenditures, senior migration, and local government reform. Prior to joining the CBER, she was Associate Professor of Economics at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana, where she taught economics and statistics courses. She received her Ph.D. in economics from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
E. Jake Gamble, M.S.M., is the owner of Leadership Support Services, LLC. His company was established to help individuals and organizations overcome their past, discover their potential, and embrace their future. The company was founded on the belief that growth and change are possible, regardless of the starting point. Leadership Support Services, LLC., provides Executive Coaching & Leadership Training, Employee Training & Development, and Inspirational Speaking. E. Jake Gamble is also a business professor. He has taught over twenty course titles at the university level.
Dr. Stanley Geidel
Dr. Stanley Geidel is Program Manager for Academic Research and Sponsored Programs at Ball State University. Stan has given presentations on grantsmanship to national audiences in San Diego and Baltimore as an invited speaker for the Community of Science; here in Indiana he has presented at the Indiana Forum for Research Administration. Stan displays a comprehensive knowledge of grants as they pertain to researchers, scholars, and creative artists in all the various academic disciplines.
Deb Goens
Deb Goens is the International Center Immigration Foreign Student Advisor / Immigration Specialist at Ball State University. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and two Master’s degrees — teaching English as a Foreign Language and Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education. Deb has been employed at The Center for International Programs since 1990. She has coordinated sending Americans overseas, accompanied a group of Americans on a study trip abroad, and worked with various aspects of foreign student advising, programming, foreign visiting scholars, foreign faculty, and more. She has traveled to Canada, Mexico, parts of the Caribbean, and parts of Europe.
Daniel Griffith, J.D.
Daniel B. Griffith, J.D., SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), is Manager of Training and Organization Development at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He is also associate faculty within the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in leadership, conflict management and HR management. He is co-author of The Conflict Survival Kit: Tools for Resolving Conflict at Work (2nd ed.) and Supervisor’s Survival Kit (11th ed.), both published by Pearson Education, Inc. Dan currently serves on the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) Midwest Region Board as Chair-Elect. Dan is a registered civil mediator and a trainer for the Public Policy Mediation course at the IU School of Law – Indianapolis. He provides training and consultation for non-profits, government agencies, colleges and universities, health institutions, HR associations and other organizations. Dan is an attorney and received his J.D. degree from I.U. School of Law – Indianapolis.
Robert J. Koester
Robert J. Koester, AIA LEED AP is a Professor of Architecture at Ball State University. Mr. Koester is Founding Director of the Center for Energy Research/Education/Service (CERES) providing interdisciplinary academic support focused on issues related to energy and resource use, alternatives and conservation. He serves as Founding Chair of the university-level Council on the Environment (COTE) a clearinghouse for campus-wide sustainability.
David G. Lewis
David G. Lewis received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice then spent several years in Law Enforcement, before returning to Illinois State University and completing a Masters in Political Science. David then spent several years working as a higher education administrator at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. David is certified by Purdue University and the University of Oklahoma in diversity facilitation and is a certified trainer for Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Successful People. He is also a certified facilitator of Emotional Intelligence through MHS. He was the 1996 recipient of the Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing outstanding presenter award. He was awarded the 2006 outstanding adjunct facility award at Heartland Community College, where he teaches American Government and Politics classes.
Dr. Pei-Yi Lin
Dr. Pei-Yi Lin is the Associate Director for Training and Psychologist in the Counseling Center of Ball State University. She came to the University of Kentucky for her Ph.D. training in counseling psychology in 2004. She graduated in 2009 and started working at the BSU Counseling Center. Since then, she has promoted international connections between Domestic students and international students on campus. She has offered a weekly outreach program called “International Conversation Hour” for three years and also served as a liaison with the IEI, the Rinker Center, and the Study Abroad program. She originally came from Taiwan and was a licensed counselor in Taiwan too. She usually travels to Taiwan or other countries once or twice a year. She has visited several countries including China, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Canada and Portugal.
Brandi McGlothin
Brandi McGlothin, Professional in Human Resources (PHR), is Manager of Employee Benefits. Brandi has been with the University in this position since May of 2009. Brandi is a 1996 graduate of Ball State University, and prior to returning here as an employee she spent 13 years in Human Resources management, primarily in the automotive industry. Brandi presents health insurance information annually to multiple audiences and is especially knowledgeable about Consumer Driven Health Plans and prescription benefit trends.
Victoria Meldrum
Victoria Meldrum is a publications specialist at the Center for Business and Economic Research at Ball State University. She creates print, online, and multimedia materials to promote CBER and Miller College of Business. Through CBER, she also creates graphics and layouts for studies and websites serving the needs of business professionals, policy makers, and government officials. Meldrum has earned the AUBER Award for Excellence in Publications for her design contributions to several projects. A graduate of Ball State University, she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism graphic design.
Melinda Messineo
Dr. Melinda Messineo is the Chairperson, Department of Sociology, at Ball State University. She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology and Education at the University of California, Riverside, where she also earned a Masters of Arts and Doctorate in Sociology. Among her many awards she received the Accessible Teacher of the Year Award, 2011, from Disabled Student Services at Ball State University. Melinda received the Outstanding Teaching Award 2009 at Ball State University.
Jamie Nast
Jamie Nast co-founded NastGroup, Inc. in 1998 and has taught mind mapping and other learning skills to over 17,000 professionals since 1992. She was previously the only Senior Master Trainer representing the Buzan Centres. Jamie is the author of a book titled "Idea Mapping" which includes idea mapping examples from 21 business people around the globe. Her clients include Mayo Clinic, Franklin Templeton, Ford, BP, U.S. Army, ConocoPhillips, L.L.Bean, and many others.
Erica Nelson is Managing Consultant of nelson performance development, LLC, training and consulting practice. Ms. Nelson is a trainer, consultant, author, and mediator who works with professionals in a variety of industries in organization development. Erica has 25+ years of professional experience in training in management development, team collaboration, and communication and presentation skills. She is a certified facilitator for the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) for the Consulting Skills for Trainers Certificate Program and Coaching Certificate Program. Ms. Nelson earned her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in Journalism and English and her M.A. from the University of Connecticut in Educational Administration and Counseling. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and formerly an adjunct faculty member in Applied Sciences at Oakton Community College teaching Psychology.
Dawn New is a Lecturer in Business Communication for the Kelley School of Business. She also conducts marketing/communication research and consulting projects. Before coming to Indiana University, she worked for Hetrick Communications, a public relations firm in Indianapolis. She has a Master’s degree in organizational communication and a Bachelor’s degree in public relations, both from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She is also a Muncie native.
Chris Reidy has worked at Ball State for twenty years, most of that time as a Graphic Designer/Multimedia Specialist. He received his B.S. in Telecommunications in 1989 and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in History. Mr. Reidy has worked closely with faculty, staff, and administrators with their PowerPoint needs for nearly fifteen years. Past projects include presentations for Dr. Michael Doyle, department of History ("Digital History"), Rich Harris ("Presidential Travel"), and Gwen Robbins ("Wellness: One University's Perspective"). When not producing PowerPoint presentations, Mr. Reidy works as a Graphics Designer/Chyron Operator for the Ball State Sports Network, for WIPB-TV, and served as the Associate Producer for the award-winning live broadcast, Echoes of War: Stories from the Big Red One.
Pamela L. Ruster, LCSW
Pam Ruster is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, receiving a Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Louisville, Kent School of Social Work, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville in Sociology. She has experience in a wide range of practice settings including child welfare, health care/hospitals, and employee assistance programs. Currently she is the Owner/President of Supportive Systems, LLC, which provides EAP and Corporate Development services to corporations throughout Indiana.
J. Michelle Sybesma
J. Michelle Sybesma is a consultant, trainer, author, and speaker with Professional Skills Consulting, Inc. She founded the business in 1999, helping other organizations to bridge the skills gap between the educational and private sectors. A unique life-twist also made Michelle a personal expert on the topic of identity theft. As a result, she married the knowledge gained from this experience and her professional skills to bring fascinating learning experience to that of Identity Theft in the Workplace.
Lynda Wiley
Dr. Lynda Wiley is the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Ball State University. Lynda oversees the Office of Student Life, the Student Center, and Disabled Student Development. She has supervised and taught graduate students for fourteen years. Lynda has received degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Southeast Missouri State University and Ball State University.
Marie Williams is the Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Administrative Services at Ball State University.

Jerry Winans
Jerry Winans is the Associate Director of Human Resources, Learning and Development (L&D). Jerry is a certified Senior Professional in HR (SPHR) and a retired U.S. Air Force officer. He joined Ball State University in July 2010 with 15+ years of experience in HR/L&D management positions at BellSouth, Honda suppliers, healthcare staffing, and Taylor University. He holds a Master of Science degree from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, (Applied Behavioral Sciences, Training and Development/HR) and a Master of Arts degree from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, (Counseling Psychology). His bachelor’s degree is from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, (Journalism and Mass Communications).
Augusta Wray
Augusta Wray, M.S., is a Proposal Manager in the Sponsored Programs Office. She is currently the principle communications, data, and electronic resources manager for the office.
Vivian Wright-Defrees
Vivian Wright-Defrees is the owner/President of Success Development, inc., a 20+ year old employee development company. For several years, she has provided numerous training programs for Ball State University - as contract and faculty. Previously, she was a corporate HR and Training and Development liaison in long-term care, as well as a training coordinator for a manufacturing company. She has developed and delivered numerous training programs such as management of self/others, inter/intrapersonal communications, training and development, healthy work environments, and customer service. She holds a Masters of Arts in Education from Ball State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
