Information Technology Strategic Plan: Goal One
Information Technology (IT) will support the development of technological artifacts and infrastructure for teaching, learning, scholarship, research, and creative endeavors.
Provide function-oriented, efficient, multi-path infrastructure (technical and organizational) and support for the development of technology-based course materials and activities, which include immersive and experiential learning and teaching, subject-focused online tutorials and resources, e-classrooms, and related technological materials and environments.
- Measure: Benchmarking of needed support for content development and access to infrastructure
- Baseline: Inventory of current infrastructure and support
- Target: An organizational process that addresses client needs related to infrastructure and support Sustain Information Technology Advisory Group (ITAG), whose members act as liaisons to constituencies, to promote a two-way flow of information between Information Technology and Academic Affairs.

- Target: Develop a communication plan for feedback among constituencies In partnership with Academic Affairs, assess training needs of students, faculty, and staff using a variety of instruments and methods that are communicated and delivered in a coordinated fashion to the University community.

Attract and retain proficient information technology personnel by collecting and benchmarking relevant salary data for IT units such as for UCS with William H Mercer Information Technology Compensation Survey and OHECC (Ohio Higher Education Computing Consortium), Teleplex with William H Mercer Information Technology Compensation Survey, and Libraries with annual general and specialized library salary surveys published in various professional publications

Develop innovative training programs to optimize technology utilization for students, faculty and staff in instructional development and delivery.
- Measure: Working assessment model that examines campus wide training outcomes
- Baseline: Current training activities
- Target: Develop a coordinated plan for training focused toward client needs
Provide appropriate access to information technology support in "proximity" (virtual or physical) to faculty, student, and staff workspace, including periodic information sharing sessions via the Distributed Technology Support Group, with representatives from University Computing Services, Teleplex, Libraries, and each college.
- Measure: A cooperative plan that increases proximity and presence of support by utilizing interns, student workers, graduate assistants, staff and a variety of virtual mechanisms.
