We all share in the responsibility to protect our computers, the network and each other from potential spam, viruses, and attacks on our systems. Here are four important actions you should take to protect your computer, your identity, and the network:
- Password protect access to your computer and do not share that password with others
- Set up your computer to automatically patch and update the system software
- Install an antivirus program and keep it up to date
- Never share your password or personal information in a reply to an e-mail message, even if the message appears to be real or threatens to close your account
