WiMAX can use a mix of interoperable broadband and wireless products to extend the availability of wireless connections to portable and mobile services. WiMAX can provide signals beyond that of a typical WiFi access point.
Ball State University is currently conducting a WiMAX research study. The goal of this research project is to provide a wireless technology with a farther reach to provide constant connected mobility between different cell locations.
This study needs participants that live in close proximity to campus. We are looking for Ball State student volunteers to use WiMAX technology at locations outside the boundaries of the main campus. Locations can include, but are not limited to, off-campus housing or apartments, vehicles, business locations in the Village and other locations that the WiMAX signal will reach.

What To Expect
If you Qualify to be a research participant in the study, you will have access to free Wireless Internet connections. As a member of this study group, you will test the use of a USB 4G WiMAX modem that must be returned upon completion of the this study and/or termination of your participation of this study.
User Duties
In addition to the following terms and Conditions, the user will be required to provide information about their experiences using the USB 4G WiMAX modem. this will include short online surveys, performance tests, and installing of network software on you computer.
Note: this is a research environment and unexpected network downtime can occur. Ball State University is not responsible for and resulting effects due to loss of internet connectivity.
