Disabled Driver Permit
Anyone parking in a Ball State disabled driver space must display a Ball State disabled driver permit along with a current Ball State parking permit. Ball State disabled driver permits will be issued free of charge to employees who have a current Ball State parking permit and supporting disabled driver documentation.
Types of Disabled Driver Permits
Temporary - A temporary Ball State disabled driver permit is available to students or employees. Proper documentation must be submitted to the Office of Parking Services. Disabled driver permits are issued for the length of time specified on the documentation. Forms of documentation that will be accepted are:
- the certification sheet for the state issued placard
- documentation from your doctor or the Health Center stating the length of time that the permit is needed
Permanent - Permanent Ball State disabled driver permits are issued on a school year basis. In order to receive a Ball State disabled driver permit, proof that the applicant has a current state issued disability placard or license plate must be submitted to the Office of Parking Services every year. Forms of documentation that will be accepted are:
- the vehicle registration for the handicap license plate
- the certification sheet for the state issued placard
Location of Disabled Driver Parking
The location of your disabled driver parking is dependent on the type of Ball State parking permit you have. To see which parking lots your disabled driver permit will allow you to park in, find your Ball State permit type below.
General Permit - Employees who have been issued a general permit along with a Ball State disabled driver permit can park in the disabled driver spaces in any yellow faculty/staff lot. They cannot park in disabled driver spaces located in red restricted or blue housing lots.
Restricted Permit - Employees who have been issued a restricted permit along with a Ball State disabled driver permit can park in the disabled driver spaces in any yellow faculty/staff or green commuter lot along with the disabled driver spaces in their assigned restricted lot.
