President Gora has made several media appearances recently. Some of them are listed here:

  • President Gora wrote two entries March 22 on the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s blog celebrating Higher Education Week in Indiana. Read her thoughts on Ball State’s immersive learning projects and rising admission standards.
  • President Gora was a guest on WIBC-AM’s “Kids Count” program in Indianapolis March 14, discussing how immersive learning helps to retain Ball State students and encourage them to complete their diplomas. Listen to an excerpt.
  • President Gora was quoted in the Sept. 23 issue of Indianapolis Business Journal about Ball State’s designation as one of the five healthiest employers in Indiana by Healthiest Employers, a national organization dedicated to promoting wellness in business. “Earning this award is further evidence that our emphasis on health and wellness at Ball State is succeeding,” she said. “We will continue to provide both structured programs and other university resources to allow employees to get the most from their health care plans and improve the quality of their lives.”
  • President Gora traveled to Indianapolis Sept. 21 for a media tour promoting the university. Watch the video.
  • President Gora’s address to nearly 200 people at the Madison County (Indiana) Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner Sept. 10 resulted in an article and an editorial in the Anderson Herald Bulletin.
  • President Gora was quoted in the July 30 issue of The Christian Science Monitor about Ball State’s construction of the nation’s largest ground-source geothermal system in the country.
  • President Gora was interviewed by both WNDU-TV and WSBT-TV as she participated in the July 23 Green Summit in Wakarusa, Indiana. She talked about Ball State students’ efforts in the immersive learning project, A Greener Nappanee, as well as Ball State’s construction of the nation’s largest ground-source geothermal system in the country.
  • President Gora wrote a guest column, “Committed to trimming the fat from children,” in the July 13 issue of the Indianapolis Star. She discusses Ball State’s efforts at combating childhood obesity through an immersive learning project, Project 18, whose partners include Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital St. Vincent and Marsh Supermarkets. She writes that the project will “engage students, parents and teachers in improving healthy lifestyles among children and their families.”
  • President Gora was quoted in the May 29 issue of The New York Times, which called Ball State a “pioneering university” for its efforts in developing the nation’s largest ground-source geothermal system in the country. The president noted that the project has created many jobs and said it is important that the project “shine a spotlight” on geothermal energy. “The energy savings are significant, as well as the operating efficiency, so we’re very excited about the project.”
  • President Gora and U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar cowrote an opinion piece, “Innovation built from the ground up,” in the May 10 issue of the Indianapolis Star, highlighting Indiana’s heritage of innovation and Ball State’s geothermal initiative.
  • President Gora was interviewed on the May 10 episode of Inside Indiana Business about receiving the Trailblazer Award for Innovation at TechPoint’s Mira Awards dinner. Watch the video.
