Academic Clemency Policy
Academic clemency is forgiveness of past academic course work.
A notation of C will indicate credit hours counted for past course work where the original grade was C or better. A notation of N will indicate credit hours forfeited for all course work with a grade C- or below. You must submit an application to the Registrar's Office (Lucina Hall, room B43) and meet with the director of Registration and Academic Progress.
You must meet and agree to the following criteria to be considered for clemency:
- must not have earned a degree from Ball State University
- a five year gap in academic work at Ball State
- be registered for the current term
- fill out an application and return it to Lucina Hall, room B43
The decision is final and irreversible. This is a one-time only process. All other academic policies of Ball State University apply. All grades earned will remain on transcript. A notation on the transcript of C or N will indicate those counted credit hours or not counted credit hours.
