Returning to Ball State after Disqualification

Academic dismissal does not mean that you are forever barred from attending Ball State, nor does academic dismissal imply future reinstatement. If you are academically dismissed, you are ineligible to attend for two consecutive semesters (summer is considered a semester).

To apply for reinstatement, contact our office for an application. We're in Lucina Hall, room B43, call 765-285-1722, or e-mail registrar@bsu.edu.

Applications must be completed and returned to our office by the deadline. The application will be reviewed by the Admissions and Credits Committee.

Evidence of having sufficient aptitude to pursue your chosen major is essential to reinstatement. Other factors such as commitment to education, adequate financial resources to attend without excessive employment, etc., are viewed with favor in considering requests for reinstatement.

A decision to reinstate a student by the Admissions and Credits Committee is readmission to Ball State University, not readmission to a specific college or department.

A student denied reinstatement may apply no more frequently than at one year intervals. A student may be reinstated following disqualification only once in a three-year period.
