Training and Education

The Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) at Ball State University offers a variety of educational opportunities for grantsmanship education. Whether you are one of our new "alpha" faculty or seasoned professional with an interest in grantsmanship, we have a program to fit your needs.

SPO collaborates with the Office of Educational Excellence to assist new faculty with their research agendas.

University Learning and Development manages the scheduling of the SPO-led, multi-session workshops in grantsmanship, called "Grant Writing Essentials".

Periodically, information sessions are presented that focus on particular grant programs, such as the Fulbright Scholar Program or the Indiana Campus Compact.

SPO also collaborates with staff from University Libraries and the Office of Research Integrity to present workshops for faculty members and graduate students entitled "Electronic Research Tools" each fall and spring semester.

Faculty and staff wanting SPO staff to provide classroom instruction, please use this form to request a presentation.

If you need guidance in creating a tailored research agenda or wish to learn more about grantsmanship, contact Stanley Geidel, SPO program manager.
