Graduate Assistantships
All full-time students in the Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education (SAAHE) graduate program are awarded a graduate assistantship. Graduate assistantships in an administrative area provide a stipend ($6,962 for the 2013-14 academic year) and tuition waiver in exchange for 20 hours of work per week in a student affairs office. Students awarded a graduate assistantship are limited to a maximum of twelve (12) hours of course work each semester, and therefore will require two semesters plus a summer session to complete the program. Students are required to pay fees (graduate assistant fee, technology, recreation, and health) which in 2013-14 total $1,249 per semester.
Assistant residence hall directors in the Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education program will be limited to no more than nine (9) hours per semester and will need two academic years to complete the program.
