The Office of Student Life
provides meaningful experiences and involvement opportunities for students at Ball State. We do this by developing and providing exceptional programs and events, building positive relationships and through fostering a spirit of collaboration. Graduate assistants have the opportunity to serve on our OSL leadership team to advise, educate, program and lead. The office focuses on leadership, service and advocacy through three of its initiatives: Excellence in Leadership (EIL), Student Voluntary Services (SVS) and multicultural student organizations.
- Excellence in Leadership (EIL) is a multi-year, co-curricular, leadership development program open to all undergraduate students. Graduate Assistants are responsible for program planning, student advising, course development and building positive and impactful relationships with students. A one-year or a two-year graduate assistant position is available.
- The Office of Student Life advises four Multicultural Organizations; the Asian American Student Association, the Black Student Association, the Latinx Student Union and Spectrum. Graduate Assistants are responsible for providing direct advisement to the organizations, building relationships with students and providing general support to the OSL. A one-year or a two-year graduate assistant position is available.
- Student Voluntary Services (SVS) was founded in 1965 and has a robust history within the university as the largest service organization on campus. Graduate Assistants are primarily responsible for advising SVS and its executive officers, liaising with community agencies and faculty members, overseeing Cardinal Kitchen and providing general support to the OSL. A one-year graduate assistant position is available.
