The L.A. Pittenger Student Center Hotel, among the finest facilities on the Ball State campus, provides convenient accommodations for campus visitors. The third floor of the Pittenger Student Center is home to 24 guest rooms and a spacious hospitality suite.
In the spirit of Hoosier hospitality, the Pittenger Hotel staff proudly ensures comfortable accommodations. Guests are treated to luxuries equal to any offered by local hotels. The hotel offers free wireless Internet access, private security entrance, cable television, complimentary coffee, and free parking.
The Student Center is currently undergoing renovation and has entered the second phase of the project. This phase includes the west end of the building, in which the hotel is located. This project will have some effect on our services and they have been listed below.
PHASE 2 - Renovation (May 18, 2009 – January 31, 2010)
During Phase 2 there will be times that the noise may interfere with the typical peace and quiet our guests enjoy due to the scope of the work. The contractors work schedule will be 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with some weekend work. Although the contractors may on occasion work past 5:00 p.m., this work will be limited to “quiet” work such as cleaning up or bringing materials on site.
Work in the hotel rooms is subject to change, but is scheduled for September 14 – December 4. During this time half of the rooms will be open with the remainder being worked on. The scope of the work in the rooms is limited to: replacing the heating/cooling systems; installing a sprinkler system; and installing new life-safety alarm system.
Here is some additional information to make your stay at the Pittenger Hotel more enjoyable:
1. The west and south entrances are now closed. Guests should now park in the east lot and enter the building from the east entrance. Go down a half flight of stairs to the first floor and proceed to the new hotel desk. The new desk is located very close to the old location.
2. The building is open until 11:00 p.m. Sunday - Thursday and 1:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Guests arriving after closing should enter the building from the north entrance. At the north entrance, there is an intercom for the guest to speak with the desk clerk who will "buzz" you in. Once the guest has checked in, his/her room key will unlock the outside door at the east entrance.
3. The new food court is managed by University Dining and is now open, featuring a full service Starbucks, Taco Bell, display cooking at lunchtime with Chef Jason Reynolds, salad bar, grill favorites, comfort foods and grab-n-go service.
4. Please check our Web site for any updates.
