As an entrepreneurial university, Ball State places a high priority on encouraging its faculty, staff, and students to develop innovative solutions, ideas, and products that can benefit local, national, and international communities.
The
Ball State Innovation Corporation (BSIC) and
Technology Transfer Office (TTO) help bring these innovative products and technologies to the marketplace by
partnering with Ball State inventors and outside organizations.
BSIC facilitates the
commercialization of
technology transfer. A business unit of BSIC, TTO works with Ball State inventors, authors, and entrepreneurs to provide education about
intellectual property policies and procedures, manage technology
disclosures, facilitate technology transfer and
licensing, and assist in the development of new businesses resulting from university-owned
intellectual property.
Together, these units help bring the inventions and discoveries of our faculty, staff, and students to the public, promoting economic development and creating employment opportunities within the region and state, while reinforcing Ball State’s reputation as a leader in innovation, education, and
emerging media.
