Stephen is the operations manager in Ball State University Marketing and Communications. As a member of the department's leadership team, he is responsible for aligning resources and developing and maintaining organizational processes that enable staff to agilely and efficiently build the Ball State brand and enhance the institution's reputation. He plays a key role in the authorship and application of university communications policies.
Stephen previously served Ball State as a communications manager. In that role, he led creative teams and developed and implemented strategic communications plans, including for the university's Emerging Media Initiative and nationally ranked College of Architecture and Planning. He co-led a cross-functional communications and marketing team in launching and managing Ball State's institutional social media presence, which accumulated the largest Facebook audience in the university's athletic conference, and consulting campus clients on their social media efforts.
Before entering public relations and returning to his alma mater, Stephen worked as a journalist, serving newspapers in the Chicago area and in central Indiana markets.
