HealthWise Self Care Presentation - Several times in our lives, we all have health care questions we can’t answer on our own. Do you know where to look to help guide you in answering those questions? For instance, have you ever sprained your ankle and wonder when you should see the doctor? Do you know when an infection becomes serious? These types of questions are addressed in the “HealthWise Self- Care” book. Each participant will receive a FREE book along with guidance on how to quickly find the correct resource you need when it comes to your emergency or health concern. Don’t Resist Resistance Training - Resistance training is not just for body building; quality of everyday life can be improved by lifting weights.  Conditions such as osteoporosis, sarcopenia and obesity can be improved with resistance training.  In this session, we will explain good and bad habits associated with resistance training, different ways to do resistance training and have a brief demonstration of some common lifts you can do at home!  Jordan and Josh are looking forward to getting your resistance training started!

Increase Your Physical Activity Without Breaking a Sweat - Do you have an office job where you seem to sit for hours on end? Does your commute to work take longer than 30 minutes one way? Do you feel tired or fatigued after a day at the office, even though the majority of the time you spent sitting down? Healthy Holiday Eating - As much as we all look forward to the holiday season, many of us fear enjoying it too much and packing on the pounds. No one wants to diet during the holiday season but how can you still enjoy your favorite foods without gaining weight? If you would like to receive practical tips on weight maintenance during the holiday season, come for a presentation over Healthy Holiday Eating. Lighter versions of your favorite seasonal recipes will also be available to take home!   Lower fat and lower calories recipes of your favorite seasonal dishes will be available for you to take home and prepare for your family over the holiday season! Date: November 7

Dining with Diabetes: Meals & Snacks Made Easy - Join BSU Dining’s Wellness Nutritionist and Executive Chef for an in-depth look at eating healthy while controlling your diabetes. Objectives for this presentation will include:

  • Understanding how foods affect your blood sugar
  • Learning how to plan well-rounded meals
  • Exploring ways to elevate taste without sacrificing health
