Education Redefined: Strategic Plan 2007-2012 produced impressive results. Resting not for a moment, we will begin to implement our next strategic plan in July 2012.
Progress to Date
The Strategic Plan Task Force has been hard at work since the effort began in the winter of 2011. The spring 2011 semester started with the members structuring the planning process and evaluating the 2007-2012 plan and outcomes.
During summer and early fall 2011, task force members spread across campus and the larger university community. They gathered input from more than 20 groups and approximately 450 individuals. They spent the end of 2011 focused on interpreting the data from those stakeholders.
Built squarely on this foundation of input and analysis, the task force crafted the first plan draft early in the spring 2012 semester. The team presented the initial draft to senior academic and administrative leaders on February 13, 2012.
Current Activities
The task force will reconnect with stakeholder groups to review the draft plan until mid-April. Academic Affairs and Student Affairs wil present the draft plan to the University Senate and student leadership organizations such as the Student Government Association and Cardinal Leadership Roundtable.
At the same time, divisional vice presidents and department heads will draft performance indicators aligned with each outcome measure in the draft plan. These indicators will track our progress over the course of the plan’s five-year implementation.
The plan, with performance indicators, is anticipated to be completed in May. In May and June, the task force will focus on crafting the implementation plan in anticipation of July 1.
