Sure, an educational experience as rich and exciting as Ball State’s requires great programs and great resources, but it starts with great people.
Our professors are respected scholars and master teachers who like to take creative risks. They’re not wrapped up in their own pursuits while graduate students teach their classes. They share their expertise by rolling up their sleeves and working side-by-side with students on unique immersive learning projects. At Ball State, professors actually teach more than 90 percent of our classes, and our student-to-faculty ratio is about 16 to 1.
Our students come from every Indiana county, 49 states, one territory, and about 90 countries. Regardless of the diversity, they all have one thing in common: They love to learn. And to make sure they can make the most of their educational experience, we keep classes small, with an average class size of 30 students, so students can get to know each other and their professors.
And in no better way is Ball State represented than through our alumni. The Late Show’s David Letterman, Papa John’s founder John Schnatter, and Garfield creator Jim Davis are just a few people who have made monumental achievements in their fields. However, there are more than 146,000 more alumni out there who are making strides and names for themselves as educators, health care providers, scientists, business leaders, designers, artists, and media professionals. With an entrepreneurial spirit and solid work ethic, our alumni are living, breathing Ball State success stories.
