Certified Public Manager Program
The Bowen Center for Public Affairs has been selected by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium to offer the Certified Public Manager Program. The program provides government employees with a complete curriculum which includes public management theories and best practices. Before being certified, participants will be expected to demonstrate proficiencies in the following areas:
- personal and organizational integrity
- developing self
- managing work
- public service focus
- leading people
- change leadership
- systemic integration
After completing the training the certified managers will have the skills to face the challenges of public service.
Accreditation
The National Certified Public Manager Consortium establishes and enforces accreditation standards for the Certified Public Manager (CPM) programs offered in approximately 40 states. The Bowen Center for Public Affairs is the only organization in the state of Indiana authorized to provide CPM training.
State Leadership
The national consortium expects each program to take the base course of study and tailor the program to fit local needs. In order to capture Indiana’s challenges and develop a curriculum to parallel those challenges, the Bowen Center for Public Affairs relies on its advisory board made up of leaders from around the state.
Receiving a Certificate
After completing the 300 hours of learning, each public manager will receive the nationally recognized designation as a Certified Public Manager.
