CAP:IC Practice-Based Graduate Assistant Program

A core element of experiential learning through the College of Architecture and Planning: Indianapolis Center is the CAP:IC Practice-Based Graduate Assistantship Program. Through the program, CAP:IC partners with design and planning firms, government agencies, and community nonprofit organizations to provide graduate students a real-world working experience that parallels their graduate education.

If you are a master of urban design or other College of Architecture and Planning student, this program will provide you a stipend through a fellowship sponsored by a partner organization and possibly some tuition assistance.  As an assistant, you will work for these partner organizations for 20 hours each week when classes are in session. This experience will provide you with a rich hands-on learning experience and the sponsor with a cost-effective, professional employee.

The education provided is made possible by our community sponsors. Past sponsors have included the City of Indianapolis, City of Greenwood, Town of McCordsville, City of Marion, Indiana Association for Community Economic Development, Southeast Neighborhood Development Inc., Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and American Structurepoint.
