Media of Health: Live & Play

healthmedia4 Our purpose in establishing the initiative focused on the Media of Health is to become a source of information for businesses seeking to understand how individuals use and respond to their health related media products, and to provide insight to organizations considering new and emerging technologies for life science applications.

  • Usability in Health and Wellness
  • Health Literacy
  • Gaming and Health

We aspire to provide demographic, psycho-social, behavioral, and physiological information related to the use of emerging media in the life sciences. This is accomplished through on-going consumer-based research that looks at:
    • How individuals use and respond to different health related emerging media across a variety of environmental and contextual settings
    • How different emerging technologies can be used to promote the health and well-being of an individual.

This data is used to develop reports on the use of health and wellness media, and is offered as a resource for academic, business and government entities looking to increase the impact of health media.

Case Study: Health Information Seeking Behaviors
The first report in a series of white papers exploring the impact of media on consumers’ health-related information seeking behaviors, will explore the usefulness of Google Trends, as well as data gathered on various searches in correlation with media events or celebrity stories.
