With all due respect to Christopher Columbus and Pulitzer Prize-winning
New York Times colum

nist Tom Friedman, the world is neither round nor flat. As Phil Repp will tell you, it's 3-D. As vice president for information technology and concurrent associate professor of art at Ball State, Repp is extending the "
educational realm of the classroom" as both administrator—forming
collaborative partnerships that put some of the
newest emerging media tools at students' fingertips—and teacher/researcher, developing technology-related
immersive learning opportunities that explore how breakthrough information systems such as the
Microsoft Surface can serve as-yet-unimagined or unrealized goals, especially in education. The expert in 3-D modeling and visualization is the creative force behind the
Digital Corps, which prepares undergraduates for industry-standard software certifications at the same time it provides the Ball State community with a cadre of digital media experts. The distinctive program earned Repp recognition by
Campus Technology magazine as one of its Innovators of the Year in 2008. Contact
