The Entrepreneurship Center

Being your own boss might seem like a dream, but at Ball State's Entrepreneurship Center, it is reality. Our program is a good fit for students who want to tackle tough problems, work from the bottom up, and start businesses that creatively solve the challenges of life.

Our center has been a leader in entrepreneurial education from our beginning in 1983, and the national rankings prove it.

Since 2000, the undergraduate entrepreneurship program has been continuously ranked in the Top 10 America’s Best College for Undergraduate Entrepreneurship by U.S. News & World Report. In 2007, Ball State was the only Indiana college or university listed in all three prominent national rankings by U.S. News & World Report, Entrepreneur/Princeton Review, and Fortune Small Business.

Why is our program such a success? Our faculty teach you step-by-step how to creatively solve real-world problems, apply a business model to your solution, and then assess the feasibility of your idea.

But it doesn’t stop there. We know how important the application of theory is to the success of our graduates. That is why we provide you with a supportive environment and multiple opportunities to immerse yourself into situations that will give you practical experience and the confidence you need.

Through our one-of-a-kind New Venture Creation course, you must present a viable business plan to a panel of experts to earn your bachelor’s degree.

These real-world situations will leave lasting impressions and maybe even help you make your first million. Read what our alumni have to say about how our program helped them.
