As part of the
education mission of the
Field Station and Environmental Education Center, training teachers that will enable them to extend their instruction to include the natural world is a priority. Many resources are provided to the community, and include
K-12 courses,
activities and lesson plans as well as
benchmarks and standards. Programs such as
GLOBE and
PIE have allowed Ball State graduate students in the sciences to partner with K-12 students and teachers to provide a variety of opportunities for students of all ages and interests.
Group and school tours of Christy Woods are offered throughout the year. Tours generally last between 45 minutes to one hour, and are tailored to fit your educational requests. Topics can highlight greenhouses, woods, wetlands, prairie, etc. To schedule a tour, contact Field Coordinator Sharyl Grant or use this form.
