Middletown in Second Life
Ball State University Libraries obtained funds from the Institute of Museum of Library Services to construct the Middletown Studies Collection Library and Archives, a virtual reference library and exhibition space in Second Life.
The exhibit was built by Ball State’s Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts and is part of the University Libraries Second Life presence. It provides multimedia overviews of research on Muncie as Middletown, with presentations on each of the six areas of community life identified by the Lynds in their original research. The virtual library also includes a reference desk and movie theater.
