Collaborative and immersive learning opportunities are at the core of our mission. We value the application of classroom study to serve the community and advance our understanding of health and aging. That approach distinguishes us as a leader in preparing collaborative and innovative graduates.
Internships provide you with the opportunity to forge lasting bonds with professionals and health care centers in the community. Graduate assistantships within the institute enable you to gain research, scholarly, and teaching experience. Assistantships require 20 hours or work each week in return for a tuition waiver, stipend, and some perks.
Our services include school and corporate wellness initiatives and outreach programs for older adults. We also host the Kirkpatrick Lecture Series—a community educational program that invites leaders in the field to speak about wellness and gerontology efforts. The institute supports the Community Center for Vital Aging (CCVA) and its mission to enhance the lives of older adults in the Muncie/Delaware County community through creative, cultural, and intergenerational programs.
