At the John and Janice Fisher Institute for Wellness and Gerontology, we are committed to promoting wellness across the life span among families, communities, and cultures.

Community Engagement

Our services include school and corporate wellness initiatives and outreach programs for older adults.

Collaborations with community partners have led to:

  • development and investigation of a multidimensional systems model for lifespan wellness
  • application of the Ball State Model for Wellness in assessment of individuals, work site programs, health care facilities, and community organizations
  • identification of effective techniques for reducing health care costs, motivating people to practice wellness-related activities, and the effects of health behaviors on longevity, morbidity, and mortality

Lasting Bonds

Although our research interests vary, we are a strong community of faculty and friends. Whether you share professional experiences with a class, establish a scholarship, or facilitate a partnership—our program is eager to connect you with students and faculty engaged in innovative research and study related to the field.
