Policies

We have a few simple rules so that we can work with writers as productively as possible:

• Our sessions start on the hour and last no more than 50 minutes. For instance, if you made an appointment for 10 a.m., it would end, at the very latest, at 10:50 a.m. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be canceled. We allow only one appointment per day and two per week.
• We are happy to work with writers to improve their proofreading and editing skills, but we do not accept papers dropped off for editing.
• It is our policy to inform instructors that students have been to the Writing Center only if the student requests such information.
• Students are welcome to bring electronic versions of their papers to work on at the Writing Center, but students are not allowed to print papers in the center.
