Developing a New Program or Course

New Academic Programs
If your department is considering adding a new degree, certificate, or minor that is offered online or as a mix of online and face-to-face courses, you will want to start your planning process with staff members in the Division of Online and Distance Education. The Division of Online and Distance Education assists with the administrative support and student service aspects of online programs and courses. Learn about the program approval process.

New Online or Blended Courses
If you wish to develop a new online or blended course, learn how the course development process works. A blended course is one that combines online and face-to-face instruction.

Redeveloped Courses
If you wish to redevelop your current online course, start by filling out the course redevelopment form. You will work in collaboration with an iLearn instructional designer and support staff to ensure optimal results.

Course Development Stipends
Funds may be available to faculty members and academic departments for the development or redevelopment of new online courses, and in some cases the redevelopment of existing online courses. Learn about course development stipends.
