How to Become an Online Faculty Fellow

iLearn is seeking Ball State instructors who are seasoned experts in online and blended learning to serve as Online Faculty Fellows.

Specifically we need:

  • Lead faculty fellow: Will be released from up to two courses for both fall and spring 2012-13. The lead fellow is responsible for managing and setting online faculty fellow directions for the year and provides continuity for the fellows program and activities.
  • One-semester faculty fellows: Will receive release time for one course for the semester he or she serves.

Fellow Activities
We are seeking those faculty who are making exemplary contributions to online education—those on the cutting edge of using innovative practices for curricular change. The Faculty Fellows will share their teaching successes and challenges with other faculty to assist them in reshaping and rethinking how they design online courses, implement instruction, assess student learning, and research online and blended teaching and learning.

The Faculty Fellows will be required to:

  • Travel to one professional conference related to online teaching and learning, followed by a presentation for faculty of knowledge gained
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with iLearn staff
  • Lead and develop three presentations, workshops, seminars, or book studies per semester
  • Present at an annual iLearn symposium
