The Department of Art offers both
undergraduate and
graduate degrees, which have been accredited through the
National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
The undergraduate program offers four-year professional degree options in the disciplines of
ceramics,
drawing,
electronic art (animation and video),
glass,
metals/jewelry design,
painting,
photography,
printmaking,
sculpture,
visual communications (graphic design), and a teaching major in
visual arts. In addition, a minor in
art history is also available.
The
graduate program in art is based on the department’s mission to educate students to develop significant ideas within the discipline of visual arts education and to master the tools and methods of inquiry for creating art.
Approval to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree requires a selection process in addition to that of the university.
