Saturday Art Classes

Spring 2012

Art & Literature  is our theme for this spring! We will be presenting all the different ways that artists and illustrators have supported and illuminated different kinds of books and literature, such as fables, poetry, and adventures.

Classes are held on seven (7) Saturday mornings, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., Feb. 25 - Apr. 19 (No class on March 10) in the classrooms of the Art & Journalism Building. They are open to any child, grades 1-6. Each class is limited to 18 students. However, you may pre-register your child to guarantee his or her placement in a class.  This is not required for enrollment, but the class may fill and be closed to additional students.  Pre-registration is recommended if you want to ensure your child's enrollment.

There are 2 ways to register:
1. Pre-register by mailing a completed registration form (PDF), with payment, postmarked by Sat., Feb. 18 (this is the deadline ONLY for pre-registering). On Feb. 25, come to the registration tables in the Atrium of the Art Journalism Building (ground floor) to get your child's teacher and classroom assignment. This guarantees your child's placement.
OR
2. Walk-in Registration: Come to Walk-in Registration on Feb. 25, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. in the Atrium of the Art Journalism Building (ground floor). The first class begins at 9:30 a.m. that day.

Fees are $35 for the first child enrolled and $25 for any other enrolled siblings. This includes all the materials needed for the classes. Classes are grouped by grade level. All classes are taught by Art Education majors, supervised by Dr. Mary Carter.
