Like many other disciplines, the fields of study within the College of Architecture and Planning benefit greatly from a global perspective. Indeed, the best design and planning decisions are rooted in a broad experiential foundation with multicultural sensitivity. In many cases, you really have to see what you’re studying firsthand to gain a full appreciation.
That’s what makes off-campus study such an important part of all of our degree programs. Regional field trips, international tours, and study-abroad programs take students to exciting and diverse places to explore environmental design and planning. Students who take advantage of these opportunities gain experience that is simply unavailable by other means, learning about a variety of approaches to solve real problems.
Students in our college have been all over the world. They take part in focused field study programs arranged by their departments or programs. Learn about these opportunities in
architecture,
landscape architecture,
urban planning,
urban design, and
historic preservation.
Students also may choose from a range of collegewide programs, such as CAP Italia, CAP Asia, World Tour, and the Ball State Study Abroad Program
