Bruce A. Race, FAIA, AICP, is an award-winning architect and planner. He has a national practice, is the Associate Professor of Practice in the College of Architecture and Planning teaching in the Masters of Urban Design program in Indianapolis; and a PhD candidate at University of Cardiff in Wales. Mr. Race maintains an active and visible professional practice at a local and national level. In September, his plan for the California University at Merced received the 2010 AIA/California Council Urban Design Award and 2009 Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award. RACESTUDIO’s clients have received 29 national, state and regional design and planning awards. Mr. Race’s PhD research titled Qualitative Indexes for Carbon-Based Planning focuses on defining best practice tools for local government in the preparation of climate action plans.
