Georgia Street: Super Street for the Super Bowl

Connecting Bankers Life Fieldhouse and the Indiana Convention Center, Georgia Street has been completely redesigned as a “new urban outdoor event venue”, now being further transformed into the Super Bowl Village and the Gateway to Lucas Oil Stadium and the Super Bowl.

The CAP exhibit features the Ratio designs created in support of the Indianapolis bid for the Super Bowl, and the urban design profile for the Georgia Street renovation.

Digital displays provide additional focus on the design and construction for the new streetscape. The Gallery’s “work-station” includes construction documents, materials samples, and site design detailing. Additional digital displays provide time-lapse construction documentation, and an overview of how the street’s design responds to Sustainable Sites Guidelines. The design for Georgia Street was selected as a national Sustainable Sites Pilot Project.

Thanks to Ratio Architects, Inc. for providing the Gallery panels and to Tom Gallagher BSU/BLA ’92, lead landscape architect at Ratio for the Georgia Street project, for his coordination of the Gallery exhibit.
